Bison: Bringing back an American tradition

Cook's Bison Ranch is an historical treasure located in beautiful Northern Indiana Amish Country, located on a peaceful, 83-acre farm setting.

Cook's Bison Ranch is a place where everyone is welcomed and at home...the place to be if you are looking for a simple, unique opportunity to make memories. Whether young or old, you can enjoy a relaxing time at Cook's Bison Ranch.

Tours of Cook's Bison Ranch are offered for groups of 20 or more. Reservations are required. The tour includes a short video of our farm, a question/answer session, a guided ride through the ranch on our covered wagon to feed the bison herd, and a selected bison meal.

Wrap up your tour with a visit to our Buffalo Treasures Gift Shop and take home a souvenir and some bison meat.

Our group tours are for all ages, and we frequently host school field trips, motor coach groups, family excursions, church groups, and civic groups.

Bison Ranch Group Tours

Open tours are conducted most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, with tours departing on the hour. Open tours run from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Open Tours include the Cook's Bison Ranch video, question/answer session, the herd tour, and a visit to our gift shops. The Open Tour does not reqire a reservation or minimum number of people, but please call ahead to check availability as the ranch is sometimes closed for private events. Cook's Bison Ranch is closed on Sunday.

Cook's Bison Ranch can also offer live musical entertainment, birthday party, and special event packages for your your group of 20 or more.

Bison Ranch Group Tours

Meal options available for groups of 10 or more with minimum 2-week advance reservations required.

Ranch Tour: Includes viewing of the Cook's Bison Ranch History video, brief lecture on the North American Bison, a Question-and-Answer session, and a guided Wagon Tour into the bison herd to see and feed them. You'll learn the intricacies of raising, feeding, and managing this beautiful animal. Tour length approximately 1 hour.

BBQ Chuckwagon Lunch Tour: Includes Ranch Tour plus dining in our barn-setting while enjoying an old-fashioned Chuckwagon meal of bison roast, BBQ baked beans, coleslaw, applesauce, corn muffin, dessert, and beverage. While eating, you'll enjoy fun give-aways. Tour length approximately 2 hours.

Bison Ranch Tours - School Groups

School Group Tour: Includes mini-lesson on the North American Bison and Native Americans, Native American craft and game, and a guided Wagon Tour into the bison herd to see and feed them. You'll learn the intricacies of raising, feeding, and managing this beautiful animal. The School Group Tour includes, but is not limited to Indiana State Standards 1.1.1, 2.1.4, 3.1.4, 4.1.2, 5.1.3. Tour length approximately 2 hours.
